Caitlin Novotny, Champion of Character

On behalf of the board of directors of the Character Council of Edmond and The City of Edmond, we would like to congratulate Caitlin Novotny for being selected as a “Champion of Character,” representing the character trait of responsibility.

You exemplify the character trait of responsibility (vs. unreliability): Knowing and doing what is expected of me. The trait is exemplified by: taking ownership of your job, fulfillment of commitments, contribute at work and at home and delegate at work and at home.

For several years you have demonstrated responsibility within the Edmond FFAorganization, not only as an officer, but also your involvement in other areas of Supervised Agriculture Experiences. You not only show livestock at a local level, but also at county and state levels with a relative amount of success, said Kenny Leatherwood, who nominated you. “Caitlin consistently is among the top rankings in the world among the Morgan Horse youth,” her primary program, added Leatherwood.

It is very impressive how Caitlin can manage all of her FFA activities, including serving as this year’s Edmond Santa Fe High School’s FFA Chapter President, and still manages all of her other activities and time, and still be a normal active senior high school student, wrote Leatherwood “We truly feel that Caitlin Novotny deserves this honor because of her outstanding character and responsibility.”

Thank you for representing Edmond as a “Champion of Character.”
